SAP MM Training 2-Org Structure- Business Area, Consolidated Busi . Area, Financial Area and their Assignment



Steps to define Business Area

This is a organization unit with in SAP which is used for internal accounting purpose.This is outdated at the moment , Still come clients using them . Now many people are using profit center & cost centers
Navigate to IMG → Enterprise Structure -->Definition → Define business Area



Select “Standard business area’ and copy it


Update Business Area details as shown below and click enter

and then save changes by entering transport number


We have successfully created business area, after this lets define functional area.


Steps to define Consolidated Business Area



Using this function , we can consolidate two / three business areas into one .


Basically this is meant for reporting purpose.
Navigate to IMG → Enterprise Structure -->Definition → Maintain Consolidated Business Area

Select 1000 and copy as

update you consolidated business area details and click Enter




Steps to define Functional Area


Again this is optional one , But still we can define it for our practice.

Navigate to IMG → Enterprise Structure -->Definition → Functional Area


Select ‘0001’ and copy it


update your Functional Area details  and save details


We have now completed definition part of financial accounting . I would like to go to assignments section and want to setup the links between org elements which I have created so far .

Navigate to IMG → Enterprise Structure -->Assignments


Assign company code to company

Navigate to IMG → Enterprise Structure -->Assignments→ Assign company code to company
Select your company code and enter Company details and save


Navigate to IMG → Enterprise Structure -->Assignments→ Assign company code to Credit control Area








Navigate to IMG → Enterprise Structure -->Assignments→ Assignment of business area to consolidated business area

Navigate to IMG → Enterprise Structure -->Assignments→ Assignment of Company code to FM area
